The Zaishen Menagerie?
Or... something? I keep hearing something about a pet farm/zoo thing.
I was wondering what the point of it is, what you do, and if its worth it? Do you get anything out of it? |

the main point for me is that when you get a pet to 20, you can drop it off there and it sorta 'saves' for you, plus you can get them back with any type of evolution. This type of saving is pretty nice for the limited time Wintersday pets.
it's also a pretty zone |

Oh, I didn't know that when I give my level 20 hearty pet up to them, I can get it back in an elder form... Is that what you are saying? If it is so, I am gonna bring some in right now.

I was still pretty new when the Zaishen Menagerie was released. I had already given up my beloved level 20 Stalker, who had been with me from the beginning, to a tamer so I could tame a stupid Phoenix with its annoying flappy wings. But I have the ZM to thank for my completion of all the campaigns. I blew through Nightfall so I could get a hyena, and pushed my way to the Crystal Desert for a dune lizard. Now I'm in the process of taking out what I've captured and leveling them up for easy access. I think it's a great addition to the game.

Its been set up pretty well too since all the animals have their own natural areas to roam in.
Good for getting Elder and Dire incarnations too. I always found creating a dire companion was tricky while hearty was really easy now I can have whatever I want. |

Yes, that place was cool coz you can just get any pet you want fast. But on the other hand , i don't know if that place was really a must , compared to some things that should have been done ...

The Zaishen menagerie is essentially pet management made easy. Plus additional services (pet levelling and evolving).
Oh, and once full, it sure makes for a nice relaxing walk. |

It's like skill unlocks, but for pets only. The only way for a PvP character to change their default wolves, too.
It's a shame you can't enter with people, though. If they could lock their Charm Animal skills when they are not the party leaders, the place would make a great place for roleplaying. |

How bout this easy step-by-step guide to understanding and benefiting from one aspect of the menagerie: "Pet Storage"
1. Roll a PvP-only toon. Put Charm Animal on its bar. Take it into the Menagerie 2. Notice that you get a lvl 20 wolf with your PvP toon! Free doggie! 3. Go talk to Emryd the Tamer (she's near the pen). Tell her to take your pet. 4. Log out, and then log into one of your PvE toons that can get to the Menagerie. Put Charm Animal on its bar. --> to further prove this point, load up three heroes and put Charm Animal on their bars as well. --> put them on Passive though. 5. Zone into the Menagerie, go talk to Wynn (he's in the pen), and ask him to spawn you a lvl 20 Wolf of whatever evolution you choose. 6. As your PVE toon and his/her heroes begin charming their free wolves, you realize the following, and smile: "So now all of my toons and all of their heroes can now have a free lvl 20 wolf pet!" 7. A mere two seconds later, you realize the following, and despair: "so.. if I turn in a lvl 20 pet of every species, I can... oh no... I'm now compelled to catch them ALL!!!! " |

I wish they would at least add a statue in your HoM if you catch them all and evolve all of them to Hearty/Dire. |

If you turn any level 20 pet in to the tamer in the Menagerie, you can spawn any evolution level 20 for any PVE character on your account.

No game advantage at all. Just a place to keep your pets, rather than losing them when you want a change.
